There is one way to heaven, and it is open to you. That may sound narrow at first, but look closer and you will find something wide open. Here is where God’s love and his holiness meet. God did not set his holiness aside to forgive us, and he did not set his love aside to remain holy. It is that his love and his holiness together made this the way, and there is no other that satisfies both.
Made Holy Through Jesus Alone
So how does an imperfect person enter the presence of a perfect God? Not by becoming good enough first, because we cannot. We enter because Jesus makes us clean.

This is the heart of it. Jesus, the righteous one, suffered in the place of us, the unrighteous, so that he might bring us to God. When we trust him, his perfect life is counted as ours. We are forgiven, made holy, and covered by what he has done. We do not arrive at heaven’s gate presenting our own record. We arrive covered by his. To believe you can reach heaven without Jesus is, in the end, to say that his death was not necessary, and to reduce him to merely a good man. But he is not merely a man. He is God the Son, and his sacrifice is the one thing that opens the way.
An Honest Prayer for the Seeker
